Lee Broom

British designer Lee Broom was born in 1976 and spent his teens as an actor before studying fashion at Central Saint Martins, working with Vivienne Westwood along the way. He began by designing interiors for bars and restaurants, and founded his own furniture and lighting brand in London in 2007.

Broom is renowned for theatrical lighting and furniture that reinterpret classical forms with modern precision. His Crystal Bulb, a cut-crystal lampshade in the shape of a light bulb, became a signature, joined by the Decanterlight, the Eclipse chandelier, the rotating Carousel, the Orion globe and the Crescent light. His background shows in the way he presents collections as stagings, such as a van touring Milan.

Broom has helped restore a sense of spectacle to British design. His brand makes its own work in the UK and is shown in galleries and homes around the world.
